[@TianaMajor9] Drops Her Highly Anticipated EP ‘Rehersals @ Nine’

East London’s very own soulful songstress, Tiana Major9, is back with a bang as she drops her new EP. ‘Rehersal @ Nine’ is the perfect combination of a classic jazz production mixed with a contemporary take on lyricism and melody. This is something we’ve come to expect and love from the Newham born and bred talent. The EP consists of  6 tracks, each of which take you through a range of emotions. From desire to love, all of which we can relate to on a daily basis. Thus, making it the soundtrack to all your everyday endeavours.

Already, she has established herself as one of the most exciting UK underground artists. But, her latest release looks like it might be the catalyst to her musical success. Her heavily Jazz influenced style makes for an eclectic listen from start to end. Throughout the project Tiana’s identity is a stable on every track and each showcases the many layers to her songwriting ability and sensational vocals.

So far we we’ve been treated to two tracks on the EP which geared us up for her first full body of work. The breakout hit single ‘Leave (Let It Break)’ was a soulful anthem which made her a rising star in the UK Alternative R&B scene. And the infectious anthem from 2018 ‘Mr Mysterious’, featured melodic jazz phrases, allowing her raspy tone to shine. The 00’s r&b inspired visuals are as great as the track itself.

First track to listen out for on the EP  is opener ‘Altitude’ a fierce jazz infused track, where she asks the listener to ‘take flight and reach my altitude’. Another standout track is the blissful ‘Dearest Dystopia’ which is perfect for any mood with its soft, acoustic vibe.

Tiana debuted back in 2017 with the highly infectious ‘Merry Go’ and the momentum for her hasn’t stopped since then. Her artist name Tiana Major9, derives from one of her favourite chords. Something that all the jazz heads will know plays a major part of chord sequences.

Tiana is headlining a London show at Hoxton Hall on Thursday 28 February. If you don’t have tickets, you’re set to miss out on one of the hottest gigs this year.
